DENPASAR (Antara) : Governments of Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam have signed an agreement to protect environment and biodiversity on Kalimantan Island, which were shared by the three countries.
"Heart of Borneo (HoB)" declaration will be a document, is expected to encourage governments of the three countries to jointly protect environments of the natural resource-rich Kalimantan, said Forestry Minister M.S. Kaban Tuesday.
"The three (Monday) signed the HoB declaration with an objective to protect the environment there," Kaban was quoted by Antara news agency as saying Tuesday after opening Country Leaders Initiatives (CLI) of the United Nation Forestry Forum(UNFF), which ill take place from Feb. 13 to 16 in Denpasar.
Kaban said that The declaration was signed by Brunei industry and resources ministry, Malaysian natural resources and environment, and himself.
