JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) has provided flood victims in Jakarta and Bekasi with clean water, which is treated from raw water taken from Ciliwung river, says IDI chairman Farid Afansa Moeloek.
"The clean water is available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day within a week starting Monday," he told Elshinta news radio Monday, adding that clean water is proceeded on Jl. Sultan Agung, South Jakarta.
In Bekasi, clean water will be available on Monday evening, while the place of the water treatment would be jointly decided by IDI and the Bekasi municipal administration, said Farid, who is former health minister.
According to Farid, his organization will cooperate with the Public Works Ministry to distribute clean water to the needy flood victims.
Farid said that the clean water processing technology to be operated in Jakarta and Bekasi has been operated to help victims of earthquake in Yogyakarta and tsunami in Pangandaran, West Java.
