Vice President Boediono said the government would review land use planning for agriculture in order to stabilize prices, according to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
"There is a message from the Vice President for us to pay attention to land use from the perspective of national interests. We had a discussion on food security," Fransiscus Welirang, Kadin's chairman of the food security committee, said after a meeting with Boediono on Thursday.
Present were Franky Oesman Widjaja, Kadin's acting chairman; Rudyan Kopot, Kadin's chairman of the aquaculture industry committee; and Juan Permata Adoe, Kadin's vice chairman of the maritime, agriculture and cattle-breeding industries.
"We too want to see price stability. Domestic factors may cause prices changes," Weliran said.
In January, inflation rose 3.72 percent from a year earlier because of rising commodity prices, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported.
