Palembang, South Sumatra (ANTARA News) - State Minister for the Environment Gusti Muhammad Hatta said he fully leaves the question of a cabinet reshuffle to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
"I leave it fully to the president, for I am ready to do my task," Gusti Muhammad Hatta said at a function to open a coordination meeting on the Sumatra ecoregion here on Monday.
He made the statement in relation with reports that President Yudhoyono would reshuffle his cabinet.
Asked about unofficial reports that President Yudhoyono would probably appoint him as forestry minister , Gusti said it was the authority of the head of state to decide.
"It is the president`s authority to decide, and as a soldier I am ready to carry out whatever task is given to me," Gusti said with a chuckle.
He admitted that had forestry background but he has yet to receive any news about the matter.
"My background is actually in forestry affair but I frankly speaking I really know nothing about the cabinet reshuffle," Gusti said.
Gusti also looked surprised by reporters` questions that he would probably replace Zulkifli Hasan as forestry minister.
"But until now there has been no word whatsoever from the president," Gusti said.
