Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Trade Ministry said it has granted tin export licenses to five companies, including the country first and second largest exporters PT Timah and PT Koba Tin, out of 13 applicants.
The three other exporters which obtained licenses were PT Billitin Makmur Lestari, PT Yienchenindo Mining Industry and CV Duta Putra Bangka.
"For other applicants which haven't received the licenses, they have been requested to provide necessary documents to qualify," Diah Maulida, director general for external trade at the ministry, was quoted by XFN Asia as saying in a statement.
Under a rule issued by the trade ministry early this year, only exporters which have registered and complied with the new rules would be allowed to export refined tin.
The rule also requires exporters to show receipts of royalty payment, and their refined tin for export must also meet a purity level of at least 99.85 pct.
