Seven hikers who went missing on Mount Salak over the weekend and were found alive Tuesday morning said they survived on wild plants.
According to Search and Rescue (SAR) team member Dyke, the seven Yarsi University college students ran out of food on the first day of their climb.
"However they were able to survive by consuming wild forest plants," Dyke told a media gathering at Yarsi University Tuesday afternoon.
Kompas.com previously reported that the seven climbers were found 3,000 meters above sea level at 11 a.m. this morning.
SAR team members and representatives from Yarsi University are currently arranging the evacuation of the students. (amr)
