Karawang, W Java (ANTARA News) - A whirlwind damaged tens of houses at Gempolkarya village in Karawang district, West Java, on Sunday evening.
The whirlwind came all of a sudden, blowing off the roofs of tens of houses at the village, Anta, a local resident, said.
"Moment before the whirlwind struck, heavy rains fell. I heard thunder and suddenly the roof of my house was blown off," he said.
The whirlwind also damaged tens of hectares of paddy field.
"On average the rice crops are three months old and ready for harvest," Acep, another local resident, said.
